PHOTOS: Suspected Leader of a Notorious Kidnapping & Robbery Gang lost his life through Jungle Justice in Delta state
A Leader of a notorious kidnapping and robbery gang terrorizing Oghara community, in Ethiope West LGA of Delta state, lost his life through Jungle Justice on Wednesday August 24th. Identified as Onos Okeribo, he was reportedly lynched by angry residents of the community following his arrest by members of a vigilante group. Okeribo and some others, who were arrested by the Police, led the criminal gang responsible for kidnappings, armed robberies, pipeline vandalism and other crimes.

Seminarian, others feared dead as Fulani herdsmen attack Enugu community
Suspected Fulani herdsmen, Thursday moring, attacked Enugu Atakwu community, in Nkanu West Local Government Area , killing a seminarian of the Catholic Church and several others.
SUNNEX CONNECT gathered that the herdsmen, who were armed to ‘teeth’ invaded and started shooting and maiming anybody in sight.

PHOTOS: Cultists killed man in Enugu
Gunmen suspected to be cultists killed a man on Wednesday in Obiagu area, Enugu State. According to a LIB eyewitness, the victim, identified as Ayaka, was in his late 20s. The suspected cultists, armed with assault riffles, riddled his body with bullets and escaped before the police arrived.
The eyewitness reported that sporadic gunshots in the area disrupted activities as everyone ran for their lives while screaming and shouting. When the heavily built gunmen, about 10 of them, were done with the attack, they entered into two different cars, a Sienna and a Camry 2002 model and sped away. They also collected another Camry from a man at gun point.
When calm was restored, people started going back to the scene where the shooting took place and saw the lifeless body which was thrown into a gutter. The police arrived after some minutes...
Some residents at the scene however claim that guy they killed was also a notorious cultist. Spokesman for the Enugu state Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident, later disclosed that one of the gunmen was killed, while two others were arrested, in a shootout with police men.

Pastor Allowed Us To Keep Guns In His Church’ – Church Members Arrested For Robbery
Policemen in Ogun state has arrested a 45-year-old pastor, Joseph Olude, and his church member, Rasak Raheem, for alleged armed robbery in the Idiroko-Oke Odan area, Ogun State.
The arrest came following a tip-off on Thursday, August 11, that a robbery gang was operating in the Idiroko-Oke Odan area, and dispossessing motorists of their valuables.
The police swung into action swiftly, arrested the suspects while others fled.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) said it had secured over N200 million bank facility for disbursement to corps members as loans to enable them start their businesses.

OIL: ‘Start The Search For Crude Oil In Benue State’ – Buhari Orders NNPC
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to commence the search for crude oil and other hydrocarbon exploratory activities in the Benue Trough.
In a statement issued by the NNPC, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Maikaniti Baru, disclosed this while receiving a delegation from the Benue State Government, who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

Ortom Visits Student Shot In The Chest By Cultists
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has promised to ensure that the 300 level law student of the Benue state university, Tyohen Akpuur fully recovers from the gunshot wounds he sustained when four armed men attacked him on Monday in Makurdi.
The affected student was shot in the chest by suspected cultists on his way to the university for studies and was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital where he is recovering.
Federal Govt sacks 23, suspends 11 officials over persistent jailbreaks
Owing to continuous jailbreaks across the country, the Federal Government has dismissed 23 prisons officials and suspended 11 others for their alleged complicity in the events.
The affected 23 persons are from Kuje Medium Security Prisons, Abuja and Koton-Karfe Prisons, Kogi State, while the 11 suspended ones are from Nsukka Prisons, Enugu State.

SPORT: Yannick Bolasie joins Everton from Crystal Palace on five-year contract
Everton have confirmed the signing of Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace on a five-year contract.
The winger has moved for an undisclosed fee, although Sky sources understand it could rise to as much as £28m.
While Everton have not announced it as a club record transfer, that total would match the amount paid to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku in 2014 if it was paid in full.

APC Youths To EFCC: You Have No Right To Arrest Blogger
The All Progressives Congress Youth Forum (APYF), on Monday (August 8th, 2016) night accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of abusing its powers under the law by sending its operatives to pick up one of the Forum’s founding members, Mr. Abubakar “Abusidiq” Sidiq Usman, on charges of cyberstalking.
A statement released by the EFCC earlier on Monday claimed that Abusidiq was arrested and questioned on offences that allegedly contravene the Cyber Crime Act.
FLOOD: Benue and 10 other states get flood alert
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Monday said 11 states in the country are likely to experience flood between August and October.
The flood, according to the agency, will be caused by rainfall intensity which has made soil moisture to reach saturation level and can no longer absorb more rainwater.
The states to be affected are – Benue, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Kaduna, Kwara, Nasarawa, Yobe and Zamfara.
NiMet Head of Corporate Communication, Eva Azinge, stated these in a statement issued in Abuja.
