Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has today signed the 2016 appropriation budget into law.
The event which held at the Benue Peoples House was attended by state
executive council members, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,
State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Judge of
the State, members of the State security council, amongst others.
Presenting the budget to the Governor, the Speaker, Benue State House
of Assembly, Mr Terkimbi Ikyange informed the Governor that having
considered the budget as presented, the house has approved a recurrent
expenditure of N66,593,996.470 billion and N84,148,877.582 billion as
capital expenditure, bringing the total to N150,742,874.52 billion.
The Governor, before signing the budget, appreciated the House of
Assembly for its speedy passage and pledged to continue fostering a good
working relationship between the three tiers of government.
Governor Ortom also promise to promptly start the implementation of
the budget, telling members present that the executive will cooperate
with them during their over sight function.
” This is a government that believe in due process and the rule of
law the Governor stated. This government is transparent and will
continue to uphold best practices as we deliver good governance to our
people.” He said.
